On May 17, 2025, after an intense day of testing—including a 5K run, 100 push-ups, and 100 sit-ups—I earned my 1st Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo.
This milestone has been decades in the making. I began Taekwondo in 1991 but stepped away in 1994. I returned in 2024, determined to finish what I started. After 1.5 years of training, I finally achieved my goal!
Speaking of dedication, let’s celebrate Jessica, who earned her green belt on May 20! After 34 years away, she returned as a yellow belt, put in the work, and proved that persistence leads to progress. Congratulations, Jessica!
A heartfelt thank you to family, friends, and amazing piano students—your support has meant the world. I hope our journeys show that it’s never too late to chase a dream. Both Jessica and I stepped back onto the mats after decades away, committed to finishing what we started—and we did!
Taekwondo and piano share a rhythm of discipline. Both require patience, practice, and perseverance. Whether refining kicks or mastering melodies, progress comes with persistence.
Whatever your passion, keep pushing forward. The rewards are always worth it. 🥋🎶
Due to events happening over the next several weeks the recital has been moved to Sunday, June 22nd, 2025.
A gentle reminder for my Thursday, Friday, and Saturday students - there are no classes May 15th-17th inclusive as I prepare for my black belt exam. I'm excited and nervous at the same time :)
Further, there are no lessons on the Victoria Day Monday (May 19th).
We apologize for the disruptions and thank everyone for their understanding.
The studio is gearing up for a bustling season, with students preparing for the Spring Recital on Sunday, June 8th, 2025 (details to follow) and their RCM exams.
Meanwhile, taekwondo tournaments are in full swing. On April 5th, Jessica and I proudly competed in the Pro Martial Arts Best of the Best Tournament, each earning silver medals in patterns. This was Jessica’s first tournament, which makes her achievement especially exciting!
Please note that Saturday classes may be disrupted as we gear up for additional tournaments and my upcoming black belt exam. I will keep parents updated as plans progress. We thank you for your patience and support!
Wishing the best of luck to all my students competing or performing at this year’s Peel Music Festival—you’ve got this! 🎉

Hello everyone,
Just a gentle reminder that your safety is important to us. With the potential hazards of snow and ice during winter, please take extra care when dropping off or picking up your child from lessons. Feel free to use our driveway to minimize the risk of slips, falls, or other mishaps.
Additionally, we recommend appropriate footwear for icy conditions to ensure everyone's safety.
We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for helping us keep the studio a safe environment for all.
Hello everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a good time this holiday season.
As a gentle reminder, lessons resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025.
Looking forward to an exciting new year with you all!
